$10.00

This one is a bit special; you are not likely to find it in many places in Australia.

A sweet little alpine plant from Japan, grows to 30-40cm tall with small lilac/blue bell shaped flowers. The common name for this one is Japanese Lady Bell.

It originally grows on high rocky mountains from Japan, so it tolerates frosts and drought well. Flowers in summer to early autumn with 40cm high stalks of delicate blue to violet bells. It can be grown in either sun or partial shade.

To sow, use a well drained potting mix. The seeds will emerge in spring after a cold period. Sow in Autumn into a 120 mm pot and cover lightly with coarse grit (3-5 mm in size) and water the pot to be moist and not sodden. Monitor over winter to not allow to dry out.
