Allium acuminatum (20 seeds)

$3.00

Originally from North America and Canada growing on rocky hills and plains. Another bulb that looks amazing grown in clumps. The flowers reach around 30 cm high, they form a ball of star shaped mauve/pink flowers. Grows in full sun and dies down over winter.

I forgot to take a photo of our plants on their own, instead if you look past the Epiphyllum you can see how pretty the flowers are.
Bulbs will readily naturalise and seeds will self sow increasing your clump. If you don’t want your clump expanding cut the seed heads back before dropping the seed. The seed heads themselves can be dried and used decoratively.

To sow your seeds, sow into a well drained mix in a pot about 120 mm size. Fill the pot to the top and sow the seeds, add a fine layer to the top and on top of that add a very light amount of coarse grit (around 3-5 mm). This helps the soil from displacing as you water it. The seeds will germinate after a cold spell and you would expect to see them in spring/summer.
