Alstroemeria hookeri (20 seeds)

$6.00

One of the most beautiful of the Andean Alstroemerias. Growing no more than 75- 100 mm and bearing surprisingly large flowers for a plant of its stature this Alstroemeria is both remarkable for its beauty and for its hardiness.

The flowers are a delicate rose-pink and the throat is attractively marked with red and yellow. A great summer bloomer. It must have well drained soil or be grown in a raised bed, we have grown ours for close to 30 years in alpine troughs.

Seeds should be sown immediately on arrival in the best quality seedling media, germination is stimulated by the onset of cool weather.

While this species is great in a pot of alpine trough it is equally happy in a sunny and well drained part of the garden.
