Cyclamen persicum (20 seeds)

$8.00

It is this species more than any other that was used to breed the large “florist cyclamen” due its robustness and stature. The species however is hardy, easy to grow in the garden, and flowers very abundantly in late winter to spring.

We have grown ours in a semi-shaded position for many years and every year we get an amazing display of light pink through to salmon pink flowers. A great species for planting with with Galanthus elwesii for early flowering and with Erythronium oregonum for toward the end of the season.

Grow cyclamen in sun to partial shade, such as the undergrowth of trees on the edge of garden beds. Cyclamen can handle a dry period over summer, but provide intermittent water during the growth period. After flowering you will find small seed head will burst with seeds and help to spread and maintain your cyclamen bed.
