Dierama galpini (20 seeds)

$6.00

Dierama galpini superficially resembles Dierama pulcherrimum, but the individual flowers are slightly larger and more open, resembling a bell. The stature of the species is lower, suiting it to the middle of the border. It flowers a little later than the others and our form is a wonderful dark purple.

A very easy genus of plants to grow from seeds, all that is necessary is a good quality seedling media. Our seeds are as fresh as we can possibly make them and we recommend that you sow them as soon as possible after they arrive. We suggest using a 150 mm pot and fill close to the top with seedling media, place seeds on top of the media and top with 6-7 mm of media and some large quartz sand if available, water in and set the pot in a semi-shaded area.

Seedlings can be pricked out after a few months or alternatively wait until the following spring for a stronger plant. Dieramas must grow in full sun, we mulch our plants very heavily and fertilise generously, a late summer dry period is beneficial.
