Erythronium dens canis (20 seeds)
A delight in late winter-early spring. A bulbous plant with extraordinarily beautiful mottled leaves, pink flowers to 30 cm are reflexed and resembling the roof of a pagoda. This species naturalises well in deep to part shade, we have always grown it in company of our Galanthus, Trillium rivale and cut leafed hellebores such as Helleborus multifidus.
Erythroniums prefer to be grown in a moist semi shade position, we have had best success in our humus rich clay soils that have good drainage. After flowering the leaves will go dormant for the summer period.
