Scilla peruviana alba (20 seeds)

A deceiving name as this bulb does not even come from Peru, it is native to Portugal, Spain and southern Italy. Scilla peruviana grows through winter with lovely big green leaves and starts to flower in spring, they will remain dormant throughout summer. As a child I thought the flowers looked like aliens coming through the ground. The large buds erupt from the middle of the bulb and leaves with many flowers that open from the bottom first.

The more commonly known blue form is both loved and hated as it spreads so well, I find the white version has not multiplied as the blue version does though it does still form a clump.
